The Safety Equipment Manufacturers Committee (SEMC) created the standard guidance regarding wire rope safety climb/systems. Incorporating ANSI standards, the document provides clarity on many safety climb related terms and maintenance standards. The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) intends to assist SEMC in developing standards or guides to communicate important issues to the industry. Common vocabulary of terms including definitions, loading information, inspection requirements, and Post fall arrest PPE inspection were all very important issues to establish standards.
